Please Note – Sun Scout uses your devices compass. Like all compasses, Sun Scout is adversely influenced by metal in buildings or vehicles. Sun Scout is only as good as the iPhones compass and is prone to a variable margin of accuracy even under fair conditions. Please do not base high-value production decisions solely on Sun Scout. Confirming them using sun charts and a technical mission during the time of day of a future shoot.

Its very easy to use and works perfect! Thank you, it was exactly what I was looking for.
This app works well, but ive two suggestionen: i would appreciate a photo function and the opportunity to set my elevation at horizon! Your App presupposes that youre @ Sea level while using
one last feature please… instead of me taking a clumsy screenshot ad the option of taking a shot including the path of the sun and the corresponding times.
For clients to see when the sun is where and what the landscape, building and so on looks like a fantastic service…

I am in the solar business. I use this app for quickly determining if large objects are going to block the sun at any given time of year when Im selecting a location for an array. I can pick a spot and sight over a treeline or obstacle while setting for different months of the year and make sure I will never have a shadow touch the array. It’s simple and quick. Great app!
A specific application of augmented reality that works really, really well. Super smooth, fast and very useful if you want to know where the sun will be coming from at any given time. You can point your iPhone anywhere and see exactly where the sun will be, and even see where it will be at different times of the year. Ive been using this for apartment hunting (to see where the sun will come in during the course of the day), and its surprisingly accurate and intuitive. This seems perfect for photographers, campers, or anyone who needs to chase or avoid the sun!!
Simple, but well executed app, congrats to the developers. Tested it at the beach today for umbrella placement and it was very accurate.
Some bad moments
I could have really used this two days ago, but it insisted the sun was nowhere near the bright glowing object in the sky. It eventually got close enough to take an amusing screenshot showing a very wrong track. Google maps and another GPS app had me located perfectly, BTW, so it wasnt GPS error, just a bad app.
Potentially a very useful app, but needs improvement. "Time line" seems to be consistently about 1:30 earlier than actual time. Sun postions on screen do not coincide with actual sun position at a given time. And yes, I did calibrate before using the app.
Worked fine on one film production - slightly off sometimes but still helpful.
Now, it always says it has interference, and then crashes my phone.
As a camera man in TV, this became an incredibly useful app for me. However, now every time I open it, it just freezes and I have to force a shut down of my phone. Very frustrating.
